{Musical Rooms- Part 2} Shared Boys Room

In my last post I shared about our decision to switch bedrooms around, reorganize and about the girls new bedroom! Today, I’m sharing the boy’s bedroom!

Like I said in my last post, we decided the kids bedrooms won’t be full of toys. We want their rooms to be places to read books, rest/sleep, and obviously where their clothes are kept. We limited their rooms to two-three kinds of toys and one basket of books. We have had this arrangement for about one month and so far, their rooms for the most part have been fairly tidy and very easy to maintain! Winning.

These boys of ours are the sweetest roommates. Especially big brother, I have overheard him comfort his little brother on multiple occasions. And at least once a week, big brother gets up early in the morning to use the bathroom, and little brother gets sad to be left alone,…so big brother brings him to the bathroom with him. He sure does take his big brother role seriously and it just makes me smile.

Big brother’s bed, dresser, and “special things” shelf. The dresser has been used as a changing table/baby clothes dresser twice, entry table that held table clothes/decor, and now a dresser for big brother.

After I started taking pictures…I had a little helper arrive πŸ™‚

Their room kind of has an outdoors/adventure theme. The two kinds of toys available in their room is cars with a mat and a plastic tote of large trucks/vehicles.

The reading corner…my helper wanted to demonstrate how it works. The raccoon bin has extra blankies and stuffed friends. Having stuffed friends to hold while reading is important πŸ˜‰

And finally, their shared closet.Β The small plastic drawers are for little brother. The closet also has extra sheets, clothes to grow into, and the large tote of trucks/vehicles.

I realized I should probably show a picture or two of how the room looked previously… these pictures are from my post right after we moved into our KC Home.

We are happy with the new look…but would still like to replace the light/fan one day.

Next post will be the Big Kid Playroom reveal!

Press on!

  1. I love the new color! It’s so fresh and clean! Way to go, Asher, on being a protective and consoling big Brother!

Comment away, friend!
