Welcome back to our KC Home Tour, Part 2! If you want the skinny on our home searching process and the story behind it all, read my last post, KC Home Tour Part 1 🙂
I left off upstairs, and we were getting to the master bedroom/bathroom.
I’m a fan of pretty much everything about this room…except the carpet as previously discussed 😉
Nathan’s closet is to the left behind the black & white chair, and mine is directly in front.
I absolutely enjoy the window in my closet, however I’d like to spruce up this space one day…remove those wire shelves under the window, maybe add some paint, possibly get a cute ottoman or something 🙂 But overall, our closets have great storage! Nathan’s closet is a bit narrow and hard to photograph.
Looking into the bath.
This room needs paint badly. I’m not into faux paint. There also used to be some sheer grecian looking valances above the windows….yeah they’re gone. We will also update fixtures and I might want to make the pillars look a little less…Mediterranean? Maybe build some boxes around them and give them more of a post look. Also,…that bathtub is excellent…for five year olds 😉 I’m not really into baths but I’m sure it will be nice to have in the winter when I’m freezing!
Well that concludes the upstairs tour! Now…to the basement!
Looking to the right as you come down the stairs you find the play area. It used to be an exercise room…the mirrors will be going away 😉 Behind the brown door is a storage room. Pretty straightforward and boring. Also, the entire basement needs paint…so just keep that in mind.
To the left after you come down the stairs is the TV area…
…and kitchenette! The previous owners had this area all set up like a movie theatre…which worked for them, but not really our thing. So the “screen” will be painted over.
Sorry for the dark picture…but this is our games and movie area! Movies hidden out of sight in the cabinet, and games are displayed on the glass shelves!
My dream is to find stray game pieces, dice, small sand timers, etc and put them in a jar for decoration 🙂
Moving from the movie/game area into…
…the craft area! We also use this area for school. Love me some natural light in this basement. And those school posters…found those in an antique mall, circa 1958! I thought they were too fun and awesome to pass up.
There’s also a closet to the left of my craft table. Nothing super about it expect for the added storage and great for guests! WE have since cleaned it up a bit more and are considered added a better closet system to enhance it’s functionality.
And finally…the basement bathroom! It’s technically a three-quarter bath since it has a shower without a tub. But we are thrilled to have this bathroom down here at all because it makes it so much better for visitors! We will absolutely paint it, possibly tile, change out fixtures, and get rid of that medicine cabinet/mirror business. There’s also a linen closet to the right of the shower. This home does not lack storage.
I wish I had pictures of the backyard to finish up the tour, but sadly I do not have any yet. Feels kind of add to end with a picture of a bathroom though…
Here’s some pics of us enjoying our new place!!
Thanks for touring! Again, we are super blessed to be here and cannot wait to use this home to glorify God and hopefully bless others with it! This is a home where we will watch our kids do a lot of growing and we know this will be a wonderful home for our Stewart Party of Six! We look forward to having family and friends over for gatherings and hosting out of town friends and family who visit or are passing through and need a place to stay. I also look forward to sharing many projects to come as make this place ours 🙂
Grace and peace to you and I hope your upcoming week is a great one!
