This past week has been a whirlwind of packing, saying hello (to Nathan. Hooray!), loading up our home, saying goodbye (to friends, family, and our first home), and being in the car A LOT.
Nathan flew into the Tri-cities late Thursday night and we packed up our moving truck the next morning.
I had a sneaking suspicion that a 24′ moving truck would not fit all our things…unfortunately I was right. Nathan got another little trailer to pull behind the truck. Still not enough space (so embarrassing! And after all that purging! I blame the tools…there are a lot of them. But I love that my man is good with his hands and builds me amazing things…lose win situation I guess.) After some discussion I suggest leaving the couches, coffee table, corner hutch, side table, and two side chairs behind. Thankfully my parents happened to be looking for a new couch and my friend Kacie was kind enough to take in my other pieces. (You guys are awesome!) so with those items out…there was room for everything else. By the way, it was raining all day and we are so thankful for everyone who helped us. Shout out to Kenny, Jim, Jonathan, George, Mark, and especially Sue who helped me clean carpets and the entire house really. We appreciate you all!!
Me & Sue. Miss you lady!!
Sue, George, and Kenny who helped us unpack half the truck when we realized it wouldn’t all fit…but we won’t talk about that again. You three are rockstars!!
That evening my sweet friend Shelly amoung some other gals hosted a farewell party for us. I wasn’t sure what to expect, especially after the day we had loading up the truck. But it was such an encouraging time. We are so grateful for that opportunity to be able to say goodbye to friends and family…thank you girls who facilitied that event. It truly blessed us.
Last picture in front of our Tri-City home.
Me and my girl Anna at the farewell party.
Seth took mine & Anna’s picture and felt that I needed his selfie on my phone.
The next morning we got up super early to start our first day of traveling. I’ve been updating my Instagram as we go…so some of this may be repeated info. The first day was our longest. With stops we traveled close to 18hrs. This was our route thru the United States
Our overnight stops were Rock Springs, WY, North Platte, NE, and Springfield, IL. The days on our map are wrong by the way. We decided to leave Saturday instead of Sunday. I’ve always wanted to do a road trip across the country…I just didn’t imagine I’d be bringing everything I owned with me 😉
I’ll continue the rest of my documenting our adventure in the next post. Stay tuned…
On the road again! Thanks Hannah for getting that stuck in my head 😉
