We have entered “birthday season” in our home. It began with my mom’s last week, mine is today, the kiddos are the 20th and Nathan’s is October 17th. Not to mention some friends are in there too!

I’m 28 this year. The last couple of days I’ve been reminiscing about all the birthdays I’ve had. One of the earliest ones I can remember, my gramma Hall brought me my first Barbie. I remember a tea party with all my little girl friends in my backyard,…I think that was my 7th. I remember bowling parties, sleep-overs, Disney Princess themed parties, Chuck E. Cheese, roller skating…one year we were on our way down to Disneyland and we celebrated my birthday in our motorhome in a campground.
Then I remember a few birthdays with sadness attached to them, my granpa Keeney in a coma after his brain tumor surgery went quite wrong. I think that was 7th grade. My 15th birthday was right before Jesus took him home. The year someone forgot my birthday…I won’t mention any names…but about 10 later that morning, I got a very apologetic text message from that person. Hasn’t happened again πŸ˜‰ The birthday when I was 36 weeks pregnant with the kiddos. It wasn’t a sad birthday really,…but a very uncomfortable one. I was literally as big as a house. I love celebrating birthdays (mostly other peoples, celebrating your own can just feel awkward sometimes, am I the only one who feels like that?)…I don’t care much for the getting older part, but oh well, it happens to everybody πŸ™‚

So the next birthdays on the calendar…our kiddos will be 3! I would love nothing more than to plan a huge party for my kids this year. I had a theme picked out and everything. But then Journey came along. And small group started up again. And Nathan’s work has been super busy…and…I could go on. Well, I can’t do it all, even though I REALLY want to. I love throwing parties. Anyways, we decided we would take a little family trip to Seattle for their birthdays. We will eat at the Rainforest Cafe, go to the aquarium, take a harbor cruise, and see the sights through our kids’ eyes. I’m looking forward to it quite a bit. More than planning a party? Mmmm…we will see πŸ™‚

I’m so blessed by my friends and family. Thank you for sharing life with me.

Miss H checking out the beautiful necklace from my mother-in-law!

Ash said “it’s a box!!” and he was very excited about it…maybe he should just get boxes for his birthday…hmmm.
What was in the box…Melmac dishes from my parents for Journey! I love them!
I’m lovin the artwork from the kiddos.
Stackin dishes.
After dinner with family, Nathan took me shopping and to Twigs Martini Bar. Thanks babe πŸ™‚

At my birthday dinner with the family we had pizza, salad, and for dessert had apple crisp and an ice cream sundae bar. Well, that did not suite little man. He kept saying “there’s no cake!! Where’s the candles?! Mommy has no cake!” I guess we have a traditionalist on our hands. Well after church today, my mom (who is so sweet) took the kids to pick out a cake for me and we had a little party after dinner tonight. Love that my kids like to party πŸ™‚

They bring so much joy to our lives.

Little Journey update: I bought fabric to make curtains for Journey yesterday…will hopefully test those out this week. Still working out painting and getting the water tank in. I think we’ve found our sink and now to find new laminate for the countertop.

That’s all for now!
Press on!
