My man is in full on project mode people…aka…how men nest. He made a list of projects he wants to finish before the babies come and he is checking off that list! Here’s the project list:
- Upstairs bathroom- re-floor, new sink/vanity, new toilet, paint walls.
- Stain the back deck
- Update kitchen- re-floor (including the dining room/hallway), paint cabinets, new sink/faucet, counter tops, backsplash,…and anything else that needs updating.
- Re-seal the driveway (not exciting, but it needs to get done!)
- Get babies room ready (I added this as it didn’t make his list…but needs to get done 😉 )
The upstairs bathroom turned out to be a fairly quick weekend project for him, and I love how it turned out! We still need to figure out how we are going to add some shelving space, but it looks so much better than it did.
Here’s what we started with:
Pretty dated and ho-hum. This is our kids bathroom between their rooms, so we knew it needed to be simple, functional, and brighter.
He got started by removing the fixtures and laminate floor. While the subfloor was exposed, he painted the walls.
Next he installed the hardi-back board and laid out the tile. We love the faux-hard wood tile…but it’s pretty spendy. However since this is such a small space, we decided to go for what we liked. We chose a gray toned wood-looking tile positioned diagonally with gray grout. The grout dried a little lighter than we’d hoped, but it’s all good.
The new fixtures and mirror are from Lowes. I found the wall decor at Hobby Lobby. Goes with the colors perfectly!
Before & After
I’m very happy with the results!
