No going back.

Today is Journey’s 2 month anniversary from when we rescued her. We celebrated by giving her the first coat of interior paint.

All prepped and ready to go.

Nathan wants me to make sure I add this disclaimer…this is only the first coat of paint. The stains and yellow varnish are not yet fully covered so he bought special stain cover primer which he will hopefully get to tomorrow. It also feels very…sterile inside now, almost hospital like. We are still trying to figure out if we will paint cabinet doors accent colors, etc. So do not despair, the after pictures are not the final product.

The wheels are also getting a makeover…

What we started with.
My dad sandblasted them and this is what it looked like pre-paint.
Butter yellow. Yummy 🙂

Nathan actually did all the painting this morning, so I’m officially caught up with Journey now as far as blogging goes.
On another subject, we celebrated my mom’s birthday on Saturday! Two of her sisters were able to come visit this weekend and joined us for the party.

The new birthday banner I sewed. I love how it turned out and want to make more 🙂
The birthday girl with her Pumpkin Spice Latte cupcakes! They were quite delicious if I do say so myself.
My mom and her ornery beautiful sisters.
Happy birthday mom! I hope I look as good as you when I’m 57! 🙂

I highly recommend the Pumpkin Spice Latte cupcakes! I found the recipe here. Someday I want to try the Caramel Frappucino cupcakes. I also made chocolate zucchini muffins I found the recipe here and just added 2 cups of zucchini to it 🙂

Well, that’s all for now!
