wiww:: falling for fall

This is our first time experiencing fall in Ohio…it.is.gorgeous. Back in SE Washington, the trees would turn beautiful colors, but then two days later we would get a huge wind storm and bye-bye beautiful fall foliage. At least the yellowing sagebrush withstood the gusts and stuck around so there was some color besides brown. But here, there are so many colors right now! Anyways, if you haven’t seen it, you should. God is best at putting colors together, am I right?!

So my new favorite item of clothing I purchased last month with my birthday money. I’ve been following an Ohio-based boutique called Merchant 31 for a couple months now and was finally able to visit their flagship store in person last month. I got their Nordic Sweater and was so glad when it cooled off enough on Sunday to wear it! If you haven’t been to their website or facebook page, you should. Or if you’re in the area, go straight to their shop! Right now I have my eye on the Love Arrow Top. And $5 of every purchase goes towards Love 146, “an organization that provides safe houses for children rescued from the sex slave industry.” Love that. When you purchase items from Merchant 31, not only are you supporting local business, you support global causes. Win win. Anyways! On to the Nordic Sweater!

Later that day, I had a meeting to go to and paired my sweater with a cozy leggings + tunic ensemble. This sweater is not only cozy, but versatile!

One thing I’ve realized since moving here…Saturdays everyone wears their OSU gear during football season. While I’ve never been a “fan” of WSU sports…plenty of our income went there for 3 years, and lots of our friends…WSU holds a special place in our hearts…so Go COUGS! I won’t be watching your games,…but I’m cheering you on with my Washington State Pride! 🙂 This is my effort to “fit in” without looking like everyone else 😉

  1. I love the way you styled your cardigan with all black. I’ve been on the hunt for a cardigan just like yours for so long, I hope I can find one soon! I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying fall. We’ve had a lot of really warm days lately, but last night’s rain may have brought the cold fall weather!
